It is springtime; a time for planting seeds and eager anticipation about what will grow.
Have you done this recently in your relationship?
Many of us made lists or set intentions when we were single. We wanted to plant the seeds about the kind of person we wanted to meet and our ideal relationship. These lists can be very effective for meeting the right person, but they can be very effective throughout our relationship too.
We all change with time. It can be easy to fall into a pattern or routine in our relationship; accepting the way things have turned out, even if it’s not exactly what we wanted. But just like a car, a relationship runs better when it’s had regular maintenance and tune-ups.
Setting intentions for our relationship helps us become more conscious about what we want. Planting seeds helps us see that we can affect change in our relationship right now. We can set any course we choose, make changes if necessary and get one step closer to what we really want. Taking the time to really look at your relationship, you may find you only need to tweak things a little. And perhaps things are going very well and doing this helps you see you are on the right track.
Anytime we bring more awareness to ourselves and our relationship, we benefit. Be open to possibilities. When we look at the seeds in our hands, it can be hard to imagine that it will ever blossom into the beautiful flower we hope it to be, but when planted and tended to, it is possible.
